Jana’s Campaign Announces National Governing Board

Hays, KS – Jana’s Campaign, a new non-profit advocacy organization developed to reduce domestic violence, has announced its national Board of Directors.  Board members include both family members of Jana Mackey, as well as experts in the field of domestic violence. Members include:

Dr. Christie Brungardt (Hays, KS). Christie is Jana’s mother and co-founder of Jana’s Campaign.

Dr. Curt Brungardt (Hays, KS). Curt is Jana’s step-father and co-founder of Jana’s Campaign.

Sam Butler (Hays, KS).  Samantha is a former advocate and staff member for the Northwest Kansas Sexual and Domestic Violence Services.

Dr. Heather Lambert (Lincoln, NE). Heather is a board member and officer for the domestic violence Hope Crisis Center of Southeast Nebraska.

Kelley Parker (Colorado Springs, CO). Kelley is a women’s activist and a development officer/professional fundraiser.

Mark Russell (Houston, TX). Mark is a board member and officer of the Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse in Houston, TX.

Hanna Spicer (Wichita, KS). Hanna is one of the founding members of the 1100 Torches national campaign in honor of Jana.

Luo (Jessie) Zhai (Hays, KS/Jiangsu, China). Jessie is a research associate for the Women’s Leadership Project at Fort Hays State University and an active volunteer for Jana’s Campaign.

Finally, Jana’s Campaign is currently in the process of establishing a 501C3 non-profit charitable organization. We hope to make further announcements about this process in the near future.
