Jana’s Campaign believes that quality batterers intervention programs (BIP) are an effective strategy of reducing repeat domestic violence offenses. Our program activities support the expansion and improvement of such intervention programs. Board members Curt and Christie Brungardt currently serve as co-chairs of the Kansas Attorney General Batterers Intervention Program Advisory Board. Here, the Brungardts support a certification process to improve BIP programs throughout the state. Please see this link for more information.

In addition to this work, board president Curt Brungardt presents and co-facilitates BIP group sessions in the states of Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Sharing Jana’s story, he calls on the men to challenge and confront their personal views on gender inequality, sexism and violence.

In partnership with the Women’s Leadership Project and the office of the Kansas Attorney General, Jana’s Campaign also helped produce the Kansas Domestic Battery Offender Intervention Program Survey. See the Executive Summary and the full report.
