The Counselor Toolkit

Thank you for your interest in our Counselor Toolkit! We have worked to provide you with materials for guidance as you work to prevent and respond to all forms of gender and relationship violence in your school and district. When compiling this toolkit, we worked with many middle and high school counselors from Kansas and Nebraska. Following are the types of materials most frequently requested: 

• Healthy Relationships - helping students to understand healthy vs. unhealthy relationships
• Red flags - warning signs for teen dating violence
• Statistics - how prevalent is teen dating violence in our schools?
• Prevention programming - examples of primary and secondary prevention programming
• Response - how to talk to both victims, perpetrators, and bystanders of gender-based violence
• Advocacy - how to best help students acquire needed services through direct service or referral
• Title IX - how to improve Title IX compliance
• Policy - how to create school or district-wide policies for dealing with gender-based violence

To get started with the toolkit, we ask you to complete the following form. We would like to track what schools are using the toolkit, which will allow us to send each of those schools additional resources in the future.
