Other ways to give
The purpose of our donor giving program is to give our friends and supporters various options on how they can financially support Jana’s Campaign and our mission of reducing gender and relationship violence. This donor giving program assists us in building a strong, caring and impactful organization. New financial capital is crucial for us to increase our program impact and to sustain that impact. All donated resources will go directly to support program initiatives and organizational related expenses. All contributions, large and small, are highly appreciated.
Annual Giving Membership Drive
Each year, Jana’s Campaign asks its friends to support our “annual membership drive.” Typically, Jana’s Campaign will provide donors with an annual program priority for that particular year. For example, in 2014 we solicited funds to support our teen dating violence prevention program and our efforts to engage boys and young men in reducing gender violence.
Program/Activity Sponsorship
Donors have the option to “sponsor or co-sponsor” one of Jana’s Campaign’s programs, activities or events. This includes one of our five signature programs or a single one-time event. Talk to our staff about the many opportunities to directly support one of these efforts.
Planned Giving
For those donors who wish to add Jana’s Campaign to their end-of-life memorial or to include us in your estate planning, please contact our staff for assistance. Planned giving is a way for people who care about Jana’s Campaign to make a future gift from their estate. A planned gift is arranged now and fulfilled later, and frequently provides tax and financial benefits to the donor while helping to achieve the mission of Jana’s Campaign.
Annual Fundraising Events
Throughout the year, Jana’s Campaign and other supporting organizations hold activities and events for the purpose of raising needed resources. Our annual “Empty Place at the Table” event each fall is an example of such an event. Please watch our website and other social media outlets for a listing of events.
In-Kind Gifts and Services
To implement programming activities, Jana’s Campaign often needs supportive resources and services. Please visit with our staff on how you can provide an in-kind gift or service that will serve the mission of Jana’s Campaign.

Our Funding Priorities
secondary education
New resources will be used to enhance and expand our teen gender and relationship violence prevention programs in Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, and beyond. Our goal is to impact 15,000 new adolescents and young people each year. Program activities include:
- Expansion of our direct prevention programming, which includes classroom and school assemblies as well as our gender-specific workshops including Her Toolkit and Man2Man
- Bystander Intervention Trainings – Utilizing the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) model developed by Dr. Jackson Katz. This peer leadership model targets not only potential perpetrators of violence and associated, but also the role of the “bystander” to these behaviors. This model seeks to empower those who might otherwise be silent observers to situations in which bullying and gender-based violence is unfolding.
- Development and distribution of materials and trainings for school counselors, school social workers, faculty, and administrators on effective ways to prevent and respond to teen gender violence through the Counselor Toolkit.
- Teacher training and classroom infusion of the Safe Dates curriculum into middle and high school classes along with supplemental materials.
- Infusion of specialized co-curricular prevention programming including our Service Project Mini Grants, Coaching Boys into Men programming, and Athletes as Leaders.
Higher education
New resources will be used to develop, implement, and expand programming activities that are designed to prevent and respond to campus gender and relationship violence both regionally and nationally. Our goal is to impact an additional 150 colleges and 100,000 new college students. Programming activities include:
- Enhancement and expansion of our higher education regional Campus Safety Summits that train college personnel on preventing and responding to campus gender and relationship based violence.
- Expansion of our direct prevention programming to regional colleges and universities, which includes Bystander Intervention Training, coordinated campus response teams, investigator trainings and the Campus Men’s Action Network.
community-wide education
New resources will be used to broaden our impact through our various community-wide educational programming strategies across Kansas and into surrounding states. Our goal is to reach 50 new communities and 100,000 citizens. Programming activities include:
- Expansion of our direct public awareness programming. This includes presentations, conference workshops, and specialized trainings.
- Enhancement and expansion of our technology and media delivery programming. This includes video development and use, public service announcements, and social media strategies.
- Development and implementation of incentives to promote community-wide collaboration between all key stakeholders working to better prevent and respond to gender and relationship violence.
