FCCLA School Projects
2020-2021 School Year
Washington State FCCLA and Reardon High School
Alyssa Lloyd, 2020-2021 Vice President of Community Service for Washington State FCCLA, with help from her advisor Ms. Barbara Hamilton, completed a Mini-Grant Service Project with Jana's Campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence throughout the state of Washington. She shared Jana's Story, created workshops, a statewide run, designed t-shirts, and created advertisements throughout the school year.
As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, Alyssa encouraged all students to wear purple on Wednesdays. Pictures were taken of participating students and shared on social media. A poster contest was also held and the 1st place winner was given an Amazon gift card. The final project Alyssa coordinated was a "Miracle Miles" run. The event raised over a thousand dollars and the funds were disbursed to area domestic violence shelters. As the project came to a close, Alyssa completed an incredible 326 community service hours. Thank you Alyssa for your partnership and success in raising awareness about domestic violence!
