Jana’s Campaign Receives Verizon Foundation Grant for Violence Prevention in Colorado and Nebraska10/3/2016 Jana’s Campaign is excited to announce that they are the recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation. This generous grant will fund comprehensive gender and relationship violence prevention programming in secondary schools throughout the states of Colorado and Nebraska. Through this grant, Jana’s Campaign will work with more than 100 middle and high schools to provide multi-level prevention programming including access to healthy relationships curriculum and teacher training, student and faculty presentations, bystander intervention training, school policy review and recommendations, and more. With the support of the Verizon Foundation, this project will expand Jana’s Campaign’s work significantly, with little or no cost to participating schools. In the past three years, Jana’s Campaign has worked tirelessly to provide quality, comprehensive prevention programming in secondary schools. To date, the organization has worked directly with more than 230 middle throughout Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas to provide programming tailored to each school’s needs. To date, Jana’s Campaign has directly impacted more than 20,000 middle and high school students. Assessment data shows an overwhelmingly positive response to this programming, with many requesting additional or enhanced programming. About the Verizon Foundation: The Verizon Foundation and its HopeLine program is committed to making great strides in their efforts to eradicate domestic violence and create better futures for survivors in 2016. This year, the HopeLine program is placing an increased emphasis on funding programs that include prevention and early intervention efforts for children and teens.
