Thomas County Attorney’s Office Hosts Silent No More Fundraiser to benefit Jana’s Campaign3/13/2018 Colby, KS- This past weekend, the Thomas County Attorney’s Office hosted Silent No More Gala, a fundraiser to benefit Jana’s Campaign Inc., at City Limits Convention Center in Colby, KS. The goal of the event was to raise awareness of gender and relationship violence and to raise funds for prevention efforts across the state of Kansas. Jana’s Campaign and the Thomas County Attorney’s Office were honored to be joined by the friends and family of Teri Chase of Colby. “They, like all families who have lost a loved one to domestic violence, understand the importance of our prevention and education work,” says Christie Brungardt, Co-Founder of Jana’s Campaign. The event successfully raised nearly $10,000. This funding will allow Jana’s Campaign to improve and expand all gender violence prevention programming in middle and high schools, colleges and universities, as well as with our community-wide partners. Jana’s Campaign would like to extend a huge thank you to County Attorney Rachael Lamm and all of her staff for hosting the gala. We are extremely thankful the Colby, Kansas community made this first annual event a success. Jana’s Campaign is a Hays (KS) based national education and prevention organization with the mission of reducing gender and relationship violence. Jana’s Campaign was created in honor of the late Hays resident, Jana Mackey, who was killed by an ex-boyfriend in 2008.
